Description Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., through its subsidiaries, engages in the ownership of power generation facilities, and water utilities, and gas and electric utilities in North America. The company generates and sells electrical energy through a portfolio of clean, renewable power generation, and thermal power generation facilities; and provides electricity, natural gas, water distribution, and wastewater collection utility services. It owns interests in hydroelectric facilities with a combined generating capacity of approximately 170 megawatt (MW); wind powered generating stations with a combined generating capacity of 650 MW; and thermal energy facilities with installed generating capacity of approximately 341 MW. The company serves approximately 46,955 active electric connections in California; 66,550 water and wastewater connections in Arizona; 82,050 active natural gas connections in the States of Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa; 11,500 water and wastewater customers located in the States of Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas; and 43,250 active electric connections and 87,650 active natural gas connections in New Hampshire.
