Richard Yocum
Description Richard C. Yocum, M.D., age 53, joined the Company as Vice President of Drug Development & Medical Affairs in February 2009. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Yocum spent 15 years in clinical drug development and project team management within the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Yocum served as Vice President, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. from 2005 to 2008; as Vice President, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at Chugai Pharma USA, LLC from 2002 to 2005; as Executive Medical Director of Clinical Research at Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 1995 to 2002 and as Associate Director of Clinical Research at Gensia, Inc. from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Yocum graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He later completed his internal medicine residency at the University of California San Diego and had a general medicine practice for 11 years.
